The short answer
For general assembly a light nylon glove with PU coating is usually enough. As soon as sharp edges are involved, cut protection from level C is needed. For wet and oily work nitrile is the right coating, for cold a lined winter glove, for electronics manufacturing an ESD-capable model.
Which glove for general assembly work?
A light nylon glove with polyurethane coating. It leaves enough feel for small parts, grips on dry and lightly oiled surfaces and breathes well enough for long wear.
Look at the gauge of the liner: the higher the figure, the finer the knit and the more tactile feedback. For wet or heavily oiled parts, nitrile is the better choice over PU.

Which glove for sharp edges and sheet metal?
A cut protection glove whose level matches the actual hazard. For sheet metal work and metal assembly, level C is the usual starting point; for sharp-edged blanks, level D or E.
Do not pick the highest level available but the lowest that covers the risk. Higher levels mean thicker material and less dexterity, and a glove that gets in the way is taken off.

Which glove for cold and outdoor work?
A lined winter glove with a water-repellent coating. The lining keeps the hand warm, the coating stops moisture soaking in from outside and rendering the insulation useless.
Choose a size more generously than for a summer glove: lining that fits too tightly presses and restricts circulation, which cools the hand faster than no lining at all.

Which glove for heat and hot workpieces?
A heat protection glove to EN 407. What matters is whether the job involves brief contact with hot parts or sustained radiant heat, because the standard tests the two separately.
EN 388 says nothing about heat resistance. For thermal risks EN 407 applies, and its marking appears separately on the glove.

Which glove for electronics manufacturing?
An ESD-capable glove that dissipates electrostatic charge. Without one, merely touching a board can damage components without the damage showing immediately.
ESD capability protects the component, not the wearer. Where there is also a cut hazard, a model covering both is needed.

When is a glove no longer enough?
As soon as the hazard reaches beyond the wrist, for example when reaching into machinery or handling large metal sheets. A protective sleeve then covers the forearm and part of the upper arm.
Length is measured on the arm, not taken from a garment size. Prices therefore follow the length rather than the model.

Frequently asked questions about choosing
- How do I find the right glove size?
- Measure the hand circumference without the thumb at the level of the knuckles, in centimetres. The figure roughly equals the glove size: 20 to 21 centimetres is size 8, 22 to 23 centimetres size 9. When in doubt take the larger size, because a glove that is too tight tires the hand.
- Nitrile or polyurethane, which is better?
- Both have their place. Polyurethane is thinner and leaves more tactile feedback, making it the better choice for fine assembly on dry surfaces. Nitrile resists oils and greases better and still grips on wet parts, but is somewhat bulkier.
- From what quantity do volume prices apply?
- The first tier starts at twelve pairs, the next at one carton. Exact prices appear on every product page. For larger quantities and purchase on account we prepare a quote.
- What does the packaging unit mean?
- It states how many pairs are in one pack and how many pairs a carton holds. Smaller quantities can be ordered, but the volume prices refer to these units.
- How quickly do you deliver?
